Elizabeth Peyton - Live Forever
In July, 2009, I attended several art exhibitions at Whitechapel Gallery (yes, that’s the Whitechapel, the London district notorious for the series of unsolved “Jack the Ripper” murders committed at the end of the 19th Century, between 1888-1891). Putting aside the gruesome murders, one of these exhibitions was called “Live Forever” by American painter Elizabeth...

Orange Sky View
Another of my photographs. I took this one today from the balcony as the sun set, turning the sky a gorgeous orange colour. Sometimes we get very beautiful hues across the sky, but my photographs can never quite capture them exactly as they appear. I can never do them justice. I really like the contrast between the orange and the black, and the little spots of light. Anyway, something to share....

White Flowers
How well do you know your own neighbourhood? If you take the time to look beyond the old familiar surface, I bet you’ll find some really interesting things. For instance, here is a photo I took a few months ago. I must have walked past this particular flower bush hundreds of times, but I never really stopped to look at it closely. Then one summer’s day, when I was out and about...

Library Books and Tumblr Bloggery
Okay, since I can’t be bothered to think of anything brilliant to write about today, I’m going to tell you about the books I bought at the library. I know, I can hardly bear the excitement either! Well… When I say “tell you about” what I really mean is I’m going to give you the titles and authors. If I could read as fast as Johnny Five (Short Circuit) then I...
